High income, named in public.
On May 19, 2024, Elon Musk replied to Mario Nawfal. The thread was about Geoffrey Hinton — the researcher often called the godfather of AI — and the idea that universal basic income would be needed if automation took the jobs. Musk’s answer was a single sentence, quoted in the sidebar: there will be universal high income, not basic.
That is the background of UHI. It is his picture of a later economic system: AI and robotics producing goods and services in abundance, with income set high enough to match that surplus. The token carries the phrase, and the logo sets chrome letters on a wireframe world.
